Matthew and Holly married and had kids young, and kept having kids. Life was busy, stressful, and fun. In 2019 they moved their six kids down to where Holly grew up (outside of Calgary). Closer to family, more space to stretch out, it felt like they could breath a little easier, they started healing areas they didn't know needed it. Then came their seventh child Benjamin. He was such a gift, so cherished and celebrated by his big family. He was born July 18th 2021, he was perfect, he was the cutest Hildebrant yet, ha ha. For reasons we will never understand he died in his sleep March 3 2022 and our world was turned upside down. During those initial months of shock, trauma, and heart break the Hildebrant family was met with so much love and support by so many people. They will continue to heal through this loss for the rest of their lives, it's not something a parent will ever "get over". Their feet feel a little more grounded now since Benny died, and part of that capacity is because of that initial support they received. They would like to offer that level of love and support to other families going through child loss. Their dream is to offer a gift box, cleaning services, meals, and other practical support to other child loss families. This memorial fund is meant to be a community of people who keep Benny's light shining. By caring about each others physical needs we meet each other in our humanity and are reminded that we are indeed not alone. To believe in something bigger than ourselves makes a huge impact and can pull us through those dark times that happen in this life. Thank you for your donations.
